Trades Day Information for Partners and Sponsors

Hello Future Trade Partners and Sponsors,

The Andy Rice Trade Scholarship (ARTS) is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization providing high school students in our region with new opportunities for careers in the trades. In the hope of changing the narrative about career paths in the trades, the ARTS organization teams up with local high schools to host ARTS Trades Days events. We collaborate with our trade partners, made up of volunteer representatives like you from local trade companies, to design an immersive learning experience for high school students. Students who participate in our events:

  • acquire a skill associated with each company’s trade.

  • engage in an interview with trade partners for potential job opportunities and internships.

  • learn about and develop durable skills necessary for successful careers.

  • network with other students, trade partners, and future employers.

  • gain action steps needed for moving forward with trade education.

Last year, the ARTS hosted an incredibly successful Trades Day with the Parkway School District and Maplewood Richmond Heights High School. As a result of the event, we ignited the curiosity about future trade careers in over a hundred students and placed four students in summer internships, indicating a direct and measurable impact of Trades Day events.  In addition, we were covered by KMOV-4 news, West News Magazine, KMOX, and St. Louis Magazine as “The Face of Skilled Workforce,” along with our partners at STL.works and the St. Louis Regional Business Council.

In addition to our signature ARTS Trades Day events at the high schools, we also hosted our first “Construct Your Future” experience with Alberici Constructors. This event was designed to take over 60 students representing eight local school districts and many Parkway teachers to an on-site tour and discussion of what working in the trades first hand. Our students had the opportunity to operate cranes, drive a skid loader, weld, build concrete forms, and take a behind-the-scenes look at the steel plant.

We invite you or your company to support one or more of these exciting events in two ways; as a Trades Day Partner or as Trades Day Sponsor.

If interested but need more information, please email us or call 314-630-7735.

We look forward to working with you this year!
