The Andy Rice Trade Scholarship
The ARTS Organization
The Andy Rice Trade Scholarship (ARTS) is a 501c3 organization providing new opportunities for careers in the trades.
In the last decade, the U.S. has faced an extreme shortage of skilled workers. Employers continue to struggle to find trained, qualified workers who are able to meet the needs of the demands for trade labor.
The ARTS organization, founded in honor of the late Andy Rice, is dedicated to supporting young adults interested in productive, lucrative, and rewarding careers in the trades.
Though “The Trades” encompass a wide array of skills and careers, the ARTS focuses on Skilled Construction Trades.
ARTS Trades Day
The Andy Rice Trade Scholarship (ARTS) organization hosts Trades Day events at local high schools for students to meet tradespeople, learn trade skills through hands-on activities, and participate in interviews with trade company owners and managers. The ARTS organization also provides follow-up opportunities for students to visit tradespeople on the job and learn skills specific to the trades. Additionally, ARTS acts as a liaison between students and Trades Day partners to coordinate apprenticeships and promote employment opportunities.

The ARTS organization offers a variety of Trade Talks to local students throughout the school year. These “Trade Talks” provide students with relevant information about the 16 different construction trades. After students attend a Trade Talk they will be invited to attend our upcoming Trades Day events and Construct Your Future events in the spring.

Construct Your Future
The ARTS is proud to have hosted over a hundred students and teachers across the St. Louis region to one of our Construct Your Future events. Last spring students had the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and work on-site practicing skills in welding, concrete, carpentry, and operating cranes with the nation’s 4th largest construction company in the US, Alberici!
